You’ve probably been given a lot of advice on how to gain weight and muscle if you are unhappy with being underweight, but the most popular advice has more than likely been - “eat more and you’ll gain weight!”. Though that is the right advice, no one ever tells you what foods to eat more of, when to eat them and most importantly, exactly how much more to eat in a weight gain diet plan.
If you’ve tried to gain weight and build muscle in the past, you know that it requires you to invest a lot of time in eating! And not just eating anything and everything you see in site. You have to eat the right foods, get the right amounts of calories, proteins, carbohydrates, and fats and know exactly what amounts of each food to eat.
When it comes to gaining weight, you have to eat just enough to build muscle mass while keeping your body fat low. We’re all born with a different genetic blueprint and determing exactly how many calories, proteins, carbohydrates and fats you will need on a daily basis depends on your body type, age, gender, height, weight, lifestyle, and genetics!

Medtronic Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator Leads have been recalled. The recalled Medtronic Defibrillator Leads are electrical wires that connect the hearts of patients to the defibrillators implanted in their chests. The Medtronic Leads recall includes defibrillator leads used since September 2004 and patients are urged to determine if the leads used with their defibrillator are among the ones in the Medtronic Leads recall by reviewing a complete list of the Medtronic Leads Recall serial numbers and comparing them to the wallet card that lists the serial numbers of their implants.

A federal court will hear arguments next month on whether farmers in North Dakota should be allowed to grow hemp, a non-narcotic cousin of marijuana, CNN reported Oct. 17.
The Nov. 14 hearing will determine whether the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is unreasonably blocking the farmers’ petition to legally grow hemp; the DEA and federal drug laws make no distinction between hemp and marijuana.

The Harvard Undergraduate Council continues to make grants of $100 or more that can be spent on alcohol at student parties despite a dean’s order to stop funding alcohol purchases on in-dorm events, Bloomberg News reported Oct. 15.
The grant program began in 2003 as part of an initiative to improve student social activities that also included the opening of an on-campus pub. But new Harvard interim dean David Pilbeam recently announced a cutoff in funding for parties.

A crackdown on alcohol sales to minors is paying off in the U.K., according to government officials.

Alcohol-related deaths among women in England have nearly doubled in the past 15 years as drinking rates also have risen, according to a new government report.
Reuters reported Oct. 22 that the report, Health Profile of England 2007, found that the U.K. had one of the lowest female alcohol death rates in Europe during the 1970s, but now about 14 of 100,000 women ages 35-54 die from alcohol-related problems.
